Erwin "Ike" Holdwick

Erwin “Ike” Holdwick, 73, of Harbor Beach passed away on Friday, March 25th, at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital from complications after a heart procedure. He was born on November 18th, 1948 to Jerome and Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick. He married Dorothy Ann Rotarius on August 7th, 1971. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helena where he was a member of the Men’s Club and Choir. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Harbor Beach Council. He farmed in partnership with his brothers, Paul and Ed, nephews Todd, Jeff, and Chad Holdwick until his retirement. He enjoyed everything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, He also enjoyed playing cards, coffee club, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 50 years. His children: Wendy (Dennis) Hanson of Harbor Beach, Paula (Daniel) Guza of Ubly, Ryan (Whitney) Holdwick of Harbor Beach. His grandchildren: Mitchell (Andrea) Guza, Maria (Cody) Deer, Michela (Austin) Burton, and Marisa (Matthew) Brown, Travis (special friend Brianna) Hanson, Grant Hanson, Greyson, Brant, and Alayna Holdwick. Great grandson Beckett Deer, and Baby Brown (due in April) Also survived by sisters and brothers: Linda Kirsch, Marjorie (Dave) Androl, Barbara (Bob) Ingles, Patricia (Carl) Roth, Bill (Audrey) Holdwick, Paul (MaryAnn) Holdwick, Dennis “Goldy” Holdwick, and Gene (Audrey) Holdwick. In-laws: Rosalee Holdwick. Theresa Holdwick, Marie Holdwick, Mother in Law Leona Rotarius, Johnny (Deb) Rotarius, Jim (Kim) Rotarius, Joe (Donna Lynn) Rotarius, and Irma (Nick) Thomas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick, siblings: Richard, Harold, Ed, and Brian Holdwick, and Arlene Emming. Brothers-in-laws Bob Emming, Ken Kirsch, and Sister-in-law Marian Holdwick. Father-in-law John Rotarius, and nephew Andrew Sabbe. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30th 11:00am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, Helena with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach from 2:00-8:00pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service. The Knights of Columbus will have a rosary on Tuesday at 7:00pm in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Family Discretionary Fund. Memories may be shared at RamseyFH.com
