Genevieve S. Roggenbuck

Genevieve Sophie (Majewski) Roggenbuck joined her lord in the glory of heaven on March 7, 2009. She was born June 16, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Walter and Sophie (Gawel) Majewski. She married Clarence Roggenbuck on May 1, 1943, in Rapson, Michigan at St. Joseph`s Catholic Church. Clarence predeceased her December 31, 1998. Genevieve was also predeceased by her beloved parents Walter and Sophie (Gawel) Majewski. Her siblings, brother Alfonse Majewski, sister Betty Mroczek, and brother Walter Majewski. She is survived by her children Paul (Sandy) Roggenbuck of Ortonville, Michigan; Clifford (Carol) Roggenbuck of Port Hope, Michigan; Regina (Lawrence) Maurer of Burton, Michigan; Marjorie (Gerald) Mathias of Middleville, Michigan; and Frank (Susan) Roggenbuck of Lansing, Michigan. Her grandchildren are Janet (Robert) Wheeler of Mattawan, Michigan; Kristen (Paul) Weiner of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Amanda (her husband Brian Ritchey) Roggenbuck of Unionville, Michigan; god-grandson Justin Faber of Deckerville, Michigan; Luann (Mark) Lytell of Glendale Heights, Illinois; Jason Roggenbuck of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Andrew (Elizabeth) Mathias of Traverse City, Michigan; Rachel Roggenbuck of Farmington Hills, Michigan; Jacob Roggenbuck of Lansing, Michigan; Clifford Carl Roggenbuck (his fiancée Brittany Terrell) of Kodiak, Alaska; and, Peter Mathias of St. Louis, Missouri. Her great-grandchildren are Brian, Janelle, Eric and Luke Wheeler of Mattawan, Michigan; Margaret and Joseph Weiner of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Gavin, Kyle, and Parker Ritchey of Unionville, Michigan; Melanie and Elizabeth Lytell of Glendale Heights, Illinois; and, Cheyenne and Wyatt Roggenbuck of Grand Blanc, Michigan. She was a life time farmer first on her parents farm, then with her husband Clarence and her son Clifford. Genevieve enjoyed many of the activities involved in farm life, cooking large meals for her family, taking lunch to the field to picnic, tending to her chickens, caring for her many gardens, and canning lots of food. When she had an opportunity she enjoyed traveling with Clarence and the Port Hope Senior Citizens, attending her Farm Bureau monthly meetings, making rag rugs, and embroidering. She will lie in state at Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach, Michigan on Friday March 13, 2009 from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Prayer and remembrance service will begin at 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will commence at 2:00 pm on Saturday March 14, 2009 at St. Joseph`s Catholic Church in Rapson, Michigan. Visitation at the church will take place from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
