Joann M. Sengstock

Joann Magdalen (Tschirhart) Sengstock, age 69, passed away at Autumnwood of Deckerville on August 12, 2021, after an extended illness. The Sengstock Family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at the Autumnwood of Deckerville facility for their care, compassion, and kindness in caring for Joann. Joann was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born to Robert Leo and Magdalen Louise (Braun) Tschirhart, with her twin sister (Joyce Margaret), on March 24, 1952. Joann’s education started in a one room school house at Red School near Port Hope until 8th grade. After graduating from Harbor Beach High School in 1970, Joann completed a year at Central Michigan University studying speech pathology to marry the love of her life, Willard Roland Sengstock on Friday, April 21, 1972. She loved being a farm wife and mother. In her younger years, she could be seen driving tractor, feeding calves, and baking delicious desserts. Her famous chili could always brighten the coldest winter day. She also worked at seatbelt factory in Bad Axe for a couple years in early 1970’s. Joann loved Euchre even though most of the time she didn’t know what was trump, she generally had the luckiest hand at the table. She was preceded in death by her mother, Magdalen Louise (Braun) Tschirhart; step-mother, Ramona (Lawrence Iseler) Tschirhart; twin sister, Joyce Margaret (Tschirhart) Koglin; brother, Charles Franklin Tschirhart (Chase Kennedy); brother-in-law, Walter John Schramski; nephew, Benjamin Charles Tschirhart; and niece, Chandra Lynn Koglin. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Willard Roland Sengstock; Father: Robert Leo Tschirhart; Children: Scott Allen Sengstock, Stephanie Jo Sengstock, Christopher Robert Sengstock, and Jennifer Magdalen (Darryl) Booms; Grandchildren: Kayla Theresa (Joshua) Theis, Dana Marie Sengstock, Ethan Andre Jodoin, Madeline Elizabeth Jodoin, and Levi Evan Booms; Great-Grandchildren: Remington Theis and Hadley Kay Theis; Sisters: Sallie (Wayne) Reithel of Whitemore Lake, MI; Nancy (Patrick) White; Carol (Wayne) Stirrett; Linda Schramski; Donald Edwin Koglin (Brother-in-law); Pamela (Brad) Neal; Mary (Frank) Kelly; (sister-in-law) Sharon Herriman; (sister-in-law) Judy Ann (Sengstock) Schinagl; Many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be directed to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10 am at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, with Fr. Matt Federico officiating. Internment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may gather from 9 am until time of services at 10 am.
