Kenneth D. Iseler

KENNETH D. ISELER KENNETH D. ISELER, age 88 of Port Austin passed away peacefully on April 9, 2008 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born on February 28, 1920 to the late Walter & Eveline (Berry) Iseler in Grindstone City. Ken married Esther Schubring on May 25, 1946 at St. John`s Lutheran Church in Port Hope. Esther preceded him in death in 2003.He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the US Army Air Core in India. Ken was a Charter member of Port Hope AmVets Post 115 of Port Hope, Port Hope Community School Board, Huron Township Treasurer for approximately 30 years, Member of St. John`s Lutheran Church where he served as past elder and he and Esther were members of the Married Couples Club, Belonged to the Tip of the Thumb Square Dance Club, served on the Eastern Huron Ambulance Service for many years, ASC Member, Member of Local Euchre Clubs, Sexton of New River Cemetery and a member of the Port Hope Retirees. He is survived by children; Nancy Iseler and her husband `Skip` Rubert of Parma, Carol Woodke and her husband Marvin of Port Hope, Brian Iseler and his wife Denise of Rochester Hills, Milton Iseler and his wife Linda Port Austin, Randal Iseler of Dade City, FL, Kim Wood and her husband Charles of Bay City. Grandchildren; Jeffrey Iseler of Tampa, FL, Gregory (Cathy) Woodke of Port Hope, Matthew (Gretchen) Woodke of Harbor Beach, David (Lisa) Woodke of Clio, Ryan Woodke of Royal Oak, Mealissa (Pat) O`Brien of Chatanooga, TN, Sherry (John) Shawver of Lima, OH, Sarah Iseler of Hazel Park, Mark (Rebecca) Iseler of Port Sanilac, Kayla Iseler of Port Austin, Jacob, Emily & Maxwell Wood of Bay City, Jaclyn Iseler of Rochester Hills, & Stephanie Iseler of Franklin, TN. 15 great grandchildren. Sisters, Amy Reinke of Port Austin, Esther Jane Woolford of Filion, Brother-in-law Ed Engel of Port Hope. Preceded in death by his wife Esther, Brother David Iseler and sister Betty Engel. Funeral Services for Ken will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 1 pm in the St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, Rev. Greg Eilers officiating. Burial to follow in the New River Cemetery. Visitation for Ken will be on Thursday from 7-9pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Inc. of Harbor Beach, and on Friday from 1-9pm in the funeral home. Visitation on Saturday will be in the church starting at 12 noon until time of services at 1 pm. A Scripture Service will be held on Friday at 7 pm in the funeral home, followed by a white clover ceremony provided by the AmVets of Port Hope at 7:30 pm. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope.
