Norbert S. Kozfkay

NORBERT S. KOZFKAY, age 79 of Harbor Beach, passed away Saturday, July 07, 2012 at his home under hospice care with his family at his side. He was born on June 20, 1933 in Harbor Beach to the late Thomas and Stella (Puvalowski) Kozfkay. He and Millie Swartz were united in marriage on June 2, 1956 in Harbor Beach. Norbert served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Norbert went to meat Cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. He worked as meat cutter at Kroger, Farmer Jack, A & P, North Shore Grocery, Gainor’s Meats and Foodtown. He was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Harbor Beach Lions Club, and the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach. He enjoyed gardening, Bingo, and the Tigers and Cubs Baseball. He is survived by his wife Millie of Harbor Beach, and children: Karen Dore and her husband Ron of Deckerville, Dennis Kozfkay and his wife Vicki of Parisville, Donnie Kozfkay of Harbor Beach, Daniel Kozfkay and his wife Tammy of Bad Axe, Kimberly Sengstock and her husband Daryl of Port Hope, Dean Kozfkay and his wife Lisa of Harbor Beach, and Kathy Elliott and her husband Shane of Harbor Beach, 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, brother Marvin Kozfkay of Croswell, and sister Jeanette Smeader of Flushing. He was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Stanley Kozfkay. Funeral mass for Norbert will be Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Military Honors will be given at the cemetery by the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach. Visitation for Norbert will be Monday, July 9, 2012 from 1-9pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Tuesday will be in the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11:30 am. The Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will take place on Monday at 7 pm and the Parish Vigil Service will take place on Monday at 7:30, both in the funeral home.
