Patricia A. Braun

Surrounded by family, Patricia Alice Braun, 80, of Harbor Beach, went with the angels to her heavenly home on April 10, 2012. She will be sadly missed, and will stay in our hearts forever. Born on January 24, 1932 in Harbor Beach, Pat was the daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Campbell) Essenmacher. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Lake Huron School. In her early years, Pat was employed as a housekeeper for the family of Don Clark, Sr. of Bad Axe. Patricia met Orville at a local barn dance; they were engaged, and later married on August 25, 1951 at St. Anthony’s Church in Helena. Pat and Orville worked together on their 80 acre farm on Toppin Road and raised their three girls. Pat was a member of St. Anthony’s Church. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, crocheting, embroidery, and was an avid Detroit Tiger baseball fan. Pat loved spending time with her family, playing cards especially pinochle, reading, and word search puzzles. Pat is survived by her husband, Orville, of 60 years. She is also survived by three daughters: Marge (Ron) Halifax of Harbor Beach, Jean (Mark) Krueger of Essexville, and Mary (Wayne) Mausolf of Harbor Beach. Her family also includes 13 grandchildren: Laurie (Stan) Messing of Cass City, Deanna (Todd) Bingham of Bad Axe, Daryl Ford of Harbor Beach, Sarah (Doug) Volmering of Harbor Beach, Karen Messing, Matt Ford of Harbor Beach, Keith Ford of Harbor Beach, Stacey (Matt) Corrigan of Freeland, Lindsay (Russell) Smith of Caro, Kyle (Michelle) Krueger of Essexville, Erinn Mausolf (Grant Champagne) of Ubly, Ross (Kim) Mausolf of Saginaw, and Tyler Mausolf of Harbor Beach. Pat was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren: Kendal Blanchard and Braden Messing; Collin Bingham; Brent, Olivia, and Kason Volmering; Griffin, Kennedy, and Bristol Messing; Chris and Zach Corrigan; Riley and Lauren Smith; and Delaney Krueger. Pat is also survived by sisters, Marjorie Murawske, Harbor Beach, and June (Chuck) Grates, Mesa, AZ. Also surviving are Ray and Dolores Braun, Port Austin, and Ken Braun, Harbor Beach. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucille Collins, Delores Eppenbrock, infant Esther Essenmacher; and son-in-law, Ken Ford. A time of fellowship will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach on Thursday, April 12 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 13 at 11 am at St. Anthony’s Church in Helena. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be offered to Brian’s House in Bay City.
