Trevor L. Koehn

On the night of May 10, 2024, as the Northern lights danced and the clouds lifted, Trevor Leigh Koehn, of Harbor Beach, MI, was unexpectedly ushered into heaven. At only 52 years of age, his family, friends, and community are devastated. To know Trevor, was to know his love and admiration for the love of his life, Juliann. High school sweethearts since 1987 and each other's first and only dates, they had a love not many are blessed enough to find. They had some amazing and memorable times together before children and after, and when they lost their only daughter, Faith Leigh, in 2002, they held on to each other as they endured a pain inconceivable to most. Surely Trevor is proving to be the most loving “Girl Dad” as he reunited with Faith. Trevor has been a part of the Harbor Beach Fire Department for more than 34 years, starting as a Cadet while still a teen and achieving the honorary rank of Captain or “Squad One”. Trevor did not just volunteer to fight fires, he lived for the sound of the fire pager and was known to bolt from any location to answer the page. He shared his love of fire fighting with his eldest son, Nathan, and was even honored to fight fires alongside him for the last several years. It was wise to clear a path in the Koehn household when the pager went off with 2 devoted Koehn men trudging hurriedly through the house! Trevor was fortunate enough to share another love of his, bowling, with his younger son, Tyler. Their love of the game was palpable - their “bowl-shit” conversations endless. Trevor shared everything he knew about bowling with Tyler, and quite possibly picked up a thing or 2 along the way from his son, as good Coaches often do. The pride Trevor felt for Tyler as he committed to bowl in college this Fall was felt by everyone who knew him. Trevor always held a special place in his heart and in his lap for his (fur) “girls”, Maddie & Maggie. We know he is now enjoying the eternal warm lap-sits and play time with Coco, Molly, and Oreo. Michigan Football, “dem Cowboys”, and his love for his collection of Hot Wheel Cars and Air Jordan tennis shoes were just a few things he loved to talk about with anyone willing to listen. Trevor was born September 8, 1971, to James and the late Mary Lee (Facer) Koehn. He attended Harbor Beach Community Schools, graduating in 1989. He was a dedicated employee at Sensient Flavors. Trevor will be deeply missed by his wife, best friend, and high school sweetheart of 30 years, Juliann, his sons Nathan (20) and special friend McKenna, and Tyler (17). His memory will be cherished by his brother Chris Koehn (Sandy) of Gurnee, IL; sisters Lisa Knopp (Gene) of Davison, MI, Paula Duda and Heather Lawhorn of Harbor Beach, MI; his father; James Koehn of Harbor Beach, mother and father-in-law: Ann & Earl Cook of Harbor Beach, brothers-in-law Kevin Cook (special friend Cindy Booms) of Harbor Beach, MI, Glenn (Jenny) Cook of Harbor Beach, MI, Aaron (Jackie) Cook of Northville, MI; sisters-in-law Sarah Shelton and Renee (Matt) Crimmins of Midland, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews and godchildren. Trevor was preceded in death by his daughter, Faith Leigh; mother, Mary Lee; grandparents Mary and Leigh Facer, Louis and Marie Koehn, and Delores Wehner Eppenbrock. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16th from 2-8 pm at Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach or Friday at Holy Name of Mary Parish from 10 until the service time at 11. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17th, 2024 at 11 am, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. Kevin Wojciechowski officiating. Burial service to follow the funeral service at OLLH Church Cemetery. A luncheon will be provided following the burial at the Helena Hall. Memorials can be made to the family discretionary fund.
