Dian Helen Volmering

October 1, 1939 - August 8, 2021

Dian Helen (Scholtz) Volmering, age 81, of Ruth, passed away peacefully at her home on August 8, 2021 surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. She was born on October 1, 1939, to the late John and Helen (Booms) Scholtz, the oldest of 14 children. Dian and Eugene Volmering were united in marriage on October 13, 1956 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church of Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2008. Dian led a busy and accomplished life as the mother of 10 children, the owner of her catering business, a dedicated member of Christian Mothers of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, of the Holy Apostles Parish, and helped run the family dairy farm. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love, her strong and determined work ethic, bright smile and warm hugs, never ending patience and her homemade pies and pancakes. Dian is survived by her children: James (Denise) Volmering of Tucson, AZ, Debbie (Dale) Geiger of Ruth, Brad (Ellynne) Volmering of Palms, Steven (Donna) Volmering of Harbor Beach, Michael (Rhonda) Volmering of Harbor Beach, Michele (Chris) Grekowicz of Harbor Beach, Bryce Volmering of Michigan, Lynn (Kurt) Kern of Bridgeport, Lisa (Brent) Moeggenborg of St. Johns, John (Christy) Volmering of Midland, 29 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, siblings: Richard Scholtz, Robert Scholtz, Brian Scholtz, Judith Cremers, Joan O’Neil, Elizabeth Harder, Marlene O’Connor, Lorene Bronner, Margo Roth, Sheri Crosswhite, Denise Rumler, Carol Klein, sisters-in-law: Eileen Volmering, Jackie Volmering, Lorraine (Stanley) Peruski, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Scholtz, brothers-in-law: Jerome Volmering, Ray Volmering, Bernard Roberts, sisters-in-law: Carol Volmering and Doris Ann Volmering. Funeral Mass for Dian will be Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, of the Holy Apostles Parish in Ruth, with Fr. Matthew Federico officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation for Dian will be Thursday from 2-8 pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday will be at the funeral home, from 9-10 am. The Christian Mothers will be leading a Rosary Service Thursday at 4 pm at the funeral home. Please consider memorials may be given to the Harbor Beach Hospital Foundation, Eastern Huron Ambulance Service, or the Sherman Township Fire Department. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com
