Eleanor Mae Tageson

Eleanor Mae Tageson, age 90, passed away in Brooksville, Florida on March 13, 2016. She was born on May 3, 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Cornelius and Minnie Walsweer. She and James H. Tageson of Harbor Beach were united in marriage on December 29, 1946. Eleanor graduated from Butterworth School of Nursing in 1946. James had a busy career as a Michigan State Trooper, allowing her to work as a nurse in various Michigan locations, including Harbor Beach and Bad Axe. She was a member of Methodist churches in Harbor Beach and in Brooksville, Florida Eleanor is survived by her husband James Tageson of Harbor Beach, Michigan. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Bassett and her husband Dave, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son Kimber and his wife Jane, of Wilmington, North Carolina, and son Todd and his wife Chris, of Dublin, Ohio; grandchildren Chad Bassett, Jennifer Myers, Matthew Tageson, Elizabeth Bedwin, Cady and Hope Tageson; four great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law Betty Schumacher of Harbor Beach, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Cornelius and Minnie Walsweer and her brother Harold Walsweer and his wife Mae; and brother-in-law Marcus Schumacher. A memorial service will take place Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11 am at the United Methodist Church of Harbor Beach. A gathering of friends will begin at 10 am at the church until time of services at 11 am. Internment will be in Rock Falls Cemetery.
