MARY E. SCHUMACHER, age 62 of Harbor Beach, passed away Friday, March 04, 2016 at Courtney Manor Nursing Center under hospice care. She was born on May 30, 1953 in Bad Axe to the late Albert and Florence (Filipak) Gusa. Mary and Steven Schumacher were united in marriage on April 26, 1975 in OLLH Church. Mary worked for 40 plus years at Unell Manufacturing. She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed gardening, watching birds, maintaining her bird feeders, fishing, and anything outdoors. She loved just being in the outdoors. Mary is survived by her husband Steven Schumacher of Harbor Beach, her son, Joe Schumacher of Harbor Beach, and daughter, Renee Kettelhut and her husband Jeff, of Beatrice Nebraska, 3 grandchildren: Katelyn Fortin, Leo and Ana Kettelhut, three Sisters: Roseanne Groth and her husband Marv of Harbor Beach, Veronica Dallas and her husband Bob of Harbor Beach, and Marie Kessel and her husband Arnie of Port Hope, and two brothers: Anthony Gusa of Harbor Beach, Albert Jr., Gusa and his wife Bev of Harbor Beach. Three Brothers-in-law: Leonard (Junior) Schumacher and his wife Myrt of Ubly, Don Schumacher and his wife Betty of Bad Axe, and Mike Schumacher and his wife Diana of Inman, South Carolina. Three sisters-in-law: Joyce Winkel of Port Hope, Joann Zdrojewski of Sandusky, Mary Lou Wickert and her husband Tom of Elkton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert Sr. and Floernce Gusa, 2 nephews: Her God Child Derek Kessel and Robert Dallas, Jr., 2 aunts: Her God Mother Theresa (Osentoski) Bombach and Bernice (Polaga) Osentoski, her father and mother-inlaw: Leonard & Mary Schumacher, and brothers-in-law: Larry Schumacher, Anthony (Bob) Zdrojewski and Melvin Winkel, and several aunts and uncles. Funeral Mass for Mary will be Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation on Friday will be at 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am. A Parish Vigil Service will take place on Friday at 7 pm at the funeral home.
