Arlene M. Brown

ARLENE M. BROWN, age 88 of Port Hope, went to be with her savior on December 8, 2010 at her home under hospice care. She was born on March 29, 1922, at the family farm home in Gore Township to the late Herman and Rebecca (Radatz) Weiss. On February 25, 1941, Arlene and Lee Brown Sr. were united in marriage in the St. John Ev. Lutheran Parsonage in Port Hope by Rev. August Frederking. Lee preceded her in death on May 4, 1996. Arlene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm she also enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and reading. In 1964 she went to work at Unell Mfg., of Port Hope and retired in 1980. She is survived by her children, Lee Edward Brown Jr., of Port Hope, Marilyn Labor and her husband Robert of Bad Axe, Audrey Zinger and her husband Frank of Port Hope, Everett Brown and his wife Ann of Harbor Beach, Ardith Blacker and her husband Dan of Port Hope, Beverly Brown of Port Hope, Keith Brown and his wife Janet of Harbor Beach, Gregory Brown and his wife Suzy of Auburn and a daughter-in-law Maureen Brown of Port Hope. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren: Todd (Lisa) Brown of Saginaw, Mark (Julia) Brown of Harbor Beach, Michael (Kimberly) Brown of Port Hope, Gary (Mary) Labor of Bad Axe, Linda (Andrew) Wolschlager of Indiana, Rick (Kimberly) Zinger of Imlay City, Karen (Joe) Murphy of Mayville, Matthew (Holly) Brown of Traverse City, Daniel (Chenoa) Brown of bad Axe, Michell (Greg) Blalock of Warren, Samuel (Danielle) Brown of Harbor Beach, Jodi (Sam) Capling of Harbor Beach, Jerrid (Sarah) Blacker of Port Hope, Mandy Reinke of Harbor Beach, Bridget (Ryan) Shaw of Pigeon, Kathy (Kevin) Deer of Harbor Beach, and Jamie (Lorrie) Brown of Harbor Beach. Twenty-two great- grandchildren: Olivia Brown, Trevor, Tyler, Katlyn and Cynthia Labor, Kortney Leeson, Ashlyn Wolschlager, Seth and Quinton Zinger, Christopher and Samantha Blalock, Cody Brown, Marissa and Peyton Brown, Amelia Capling, Gabrielle Reinke, Colin, Jillian and Keltie Deer, Chelsea and Travis Brown. Arlene was preceded in death by a son Oren Brown, infant daughter Karen Kay Brown and great -granddaughter Carly Reinke, two foster brothers Charles Mundy and Earl McNeil. Funeral Services for Arlene will be Friday, December 10, 2010 at 2 pm in the St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, with Rev. Greg Eilers officiating. Burial will follow in Marquardt Cemetery. Visitation for Arlene will be Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 1-9pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday will be in the church beginning at 12 noon until time of services at 2 pm. A scripture service will take place Thursday at 7 pm in the funeral home.
