Margaret M. Nowicki

MARGARET M. NOWICKI, age 92 of Harbor Beach, passed away June 7, 2011 at Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe. She was born on September 12, 1918 in Harbor Beach to the late Anthony & Mary (Guza) Siemen. Margaret was a graduate of the Ashmore School. Margaret and Norman Nowicki were united in marriage on August 31, 1940 in St. Anthony`s Church, Helena. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. Margaret enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening, taking pride in her rose garden. Her hobbies included making rugs, crocheting, playing bingo and cards. She had a great talent of memorizing poems and many of her family and friends have fond memories of listening to her recite them. She enjoyed most of all, spending time with her family. The thrill of her life was her first airplane ride at the age of 89, on a trip home from Arizona. She also enjoyed spending time in Alabama and Florida with her family. She is survived by her children Stella Osentoski and her husband Duke of Harbor Beach, Raymond Nowicki and his wife Ann of Woodhaven, Dorothy Person and her husband Jerry of Saginaw. Nine grandchildren: David, Dan and Terry Osentoski, Mary Beth Fournier, Robert and James Burkhard, Jeff, Chris and Tom Nowicki and eight great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her brothers: Charles (Norma) Siemen of Hartland and Harry (Pat) Siemen of Harbor beach. She was preceded in death by her brothers Bernard, Robert and Leonard Siemen, and sisters Stella Siemen, Genevieve Winkel, Marie Geiger and Clara Labon. Funeral mass for Margaret will be Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11 am in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, with Fr. Don Eppenbrock officiating. Burial will follow in the OLLH Church Cemetery. Visitation for Margaret will be Thursday from 2-9pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday will be in the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11am. A Parish Vigil Service will take place Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
