Wilbert Earl Krueger

WILBERT EARL KRUEGER age 78 of Harbor Beach passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005 at his home following a short illness. Born in Harbor Beach on April 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Oscar and Loretta (Pochert) Krueger. On May 15, 1948 in the First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Beach, Wilbert married Betty Lou Learman. Throughout their joyous 58 years together, they enjoyed numerous community social organizations and activities with their friends. Wilbert farmed for many years and was a rural mail carrier for the Harbor Beach Post Office for 33 years retiring in 1999 He was a faithful member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach and a dedicated member of the Harbor Beach Lions Club and served as an officer for many years and he was a charter member of the Harbor Beach Jaycees. A devoted father, Wilbert attended many sports activities and continued to follow the Harbor Beach Pirates in many sporting events after his children graduated. He will be affectionate remembered by his friends and neighbors for his generous nature and love of life, as well as the fact that he was one heck of a Euchre and poker player. He is survived by his adored wife Betty Lou Krueger of harbor Beach and his children: a daughter in law, Nancy Krueger of Harbor Beach, Paul Krueger and his wife Mary of Grayslake, IL, Keri Green and her husband Curt of Livonia, Phil Krueger and his wife Diane of Owosso. Also by 8 grandchildren: Keith, Erik Krueger, Lynn (Fred) Booms, Ryan, Sean, Collin, and Katelyn Krueger and Alicia Davis. And by 4 great grandchildren: Derek, Brenden, Nathan Booms and Zackery Clark. Wilbert was preceded in death by a son Kurt Krueger in 1983 ,brother Melvin Krueger, and a sister Dorothy Krureger. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11am in Zion Lutheran Church, Harbor Beach with Rev. Mark Girardin, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Falls Cemetery, A scripture service will be Tuesday at 7 pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach where visitation will be Tuesday from 1-5 & 7-9pm and Wednesday at the church from 10am until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the Harbor Beach Lions Club, Zion Lutheran Church or any charity of choice.
