Our History

Our History

Burton and Thyrsa Ramsey started the Ramsey Funeral Home in January of 1948 with the motto of "Our Family Serving Yours." Their son, Warren, joined the family business as a licensed funeral director in 1971 after obtaining his degree at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

This motto is now in its third generation as Ryan received his license to practice Mortuary Science in the State of Michigan in 2002. He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with a Bachelor of Mortuary Science Degree in October, 2001. He now makes the third generation family funeral director at the Ramsey Funeral Home. He also assists in the operations at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe, Michigan, where Warren is a partner and the Vice-President.

The rest of the Ramsey Family, Arlene, Ross, Shaun and Clark, also assist in the daily operations of the funeral home.

Dan Lemanski is another employee that assists at visitations and funerals. Retired from the Metro area, Dan returned to his roots in Harbor Beach and joining the staff has helped carry on the family tradition of serving the community.
